L'acquisto di frutta fresca

Market day in Crespano

sunny 3 °C

We seem fortunate to be within walking distance (~1 mile) from one of the best and largest markets in the area. Every Sunday, the town of Crespano del Grappa is transformed. This is not what we picture in the United States as a farmer's market. This is a half mile of vendor stalls. Anything from household tools to scarves to fresh fruit to rotisserie chickens. It was a beautiful day, so a delightful walk. All of this walking is a good thing, given the quality of the pastries in the morning and the pasta at night. I just went from stall to stall - "assaggio, per favore?" (Given my location, not to be confused with "Asiago, per favore" although that is also a frequent request - "taste, please" versus "local cheese, please")
